Is the Lexus Military Sales Program associated with the any of the other programs currently available through the US Military PX/BX system?
No, this is a totally new and independent US Military Sales Program offered exclusively through Pentagon Car Sales. It is not connected to any program or organization within the on-base US Military PX/BX network.
This dedicated program currently serves US military personnel Europe-wide through the Pentagon Car Sales store-front representation in Germany, but the program will further expand both in Germany and additional European countries in the near future.
To take advantage of the many benefits offered through Lexus Military Sales at Pentagon Car Sales, the location of your permanent duty station must be outside the United States and its territories. Alternatively, if you are deployed, or in possession of TDY/TAD orders to a foreign location (for just one overnight), you qualify to place your vehicle order through this very special program.
Is it possible for both DOD civilian employees and civilians contracted to the US Military to participate in this program?
Yes, both groups may participate in the program providing the person holds a valid US Military ID Card and is assigned on official orders to a duty station located outside the USA and its territories.
Absolutely not! Special pricing is set throughout the program and regardless of your rank or service branch – everyone pays the same reduced "military-preferred" price. This is one of the cornerstones of the Lexus Military Sales Program that removes the stressful and unpleasant element of having to "do battle" with a salesperson to obtain the lowest possible price. Lexus "military-preferred" pricing is typically less than US Dealer Invoice cost. Prices are set in US dollars to avoid daily currency fluctuations and more importantly, the price you see is the price you pay and everyone pays the same!
Having once decided to purchase a new luxury vehicle, waiting for delivery can be almost unbearable. To ensure the shortest possible delivery wait time, we obtain regular data from Lexus that reflects the latest ordering trends in the United States. This allows us to maintain a full range of "Lexus Preferred Buy" models at all our locations, which are configured with the most popular colors, interiors, options and packages.
Although you may intend to make a higher total down payment, the minimum amount required to initiate an order is determined per model series as follows:
- CT Series: $1,000
- IS Series: $2,000
- ES Series: $2,000
- GS Series: $3,000
- LS Series: 10%
- RX SUVs: $3,000
- GX SUVs: $3,000
- LX SUVs: 10%
Pentagon Car Sales will accept this initial payment by way of a money order, certified check or a VISA, MasterCard or American Express credit card. If the total amount of the car purchase is to be financed, the initial down payment will be refunded to you upon our receipt of your finance check.
In the event that I'm unable to obtain financing for my purchase, what happens if I need to withdraw my order?
When placing your order, you will receive written terms and conditions, which safeguard your initial down payment in the event that you are unable to secure financing for your purchase. You are requested to obtain an LOI (Letter of Intent) from a financial institution within 5 days of placing your vehicle order, so that availability of financing may be established as soon as possible.
The car comes with a 36-month/60,000 miles warranty in Europe and 48-month/50,000 mile in the USA. Both warranties run concurrently from the delivery acceptance date. Should your ownership in Europe exceed the 36-month warranty period, Pentagon Car Sales can offer an additional service contract cover at reasonable prices.

Yes, not only do they fully conform to US federal regulations but they also fulfil all legal requirements in the state of California.
Import Tax is charged at 2.5% of the total value stated on the Bill of Sale. As a general rule the criteria for free (non-taxable) importation is that the owner must have been stationed abroad for 140 consecutive days and has taken physical possession of the vehicle while stationed abroad. A copy of official military (PCS) orders must accompany the vehicle being shipped and as some US ports of entry stipulate a minimum mileage requirement in order to avoid Import Tax, it is also recommended that your vehicle be shipped with a minimum of 500 miles at the time of importation.
Depending upon whether you are Military, Civilian (GS) or DOD contractor, the rules can vary. If you’re unsure just check with the relevant department or visit the official US Customs Website and navigate to the relevant section.
In the case of State Sales Tax it is impossible to list definitive criteria as each individual state views both rates and liability differently. As a general rule you should expect to pay some form of tax upon first registration in the USA. However, as a military person you may qualify for exemption or if the vehicle has already been bought and owned out of state (sometimes for a specified time period) this may also fulfil criteria for exemption. It's always a good idea to try to obtain first-hand information from the appropriate local office. For an overview of the various State rates click www.taxadmin.org then navigate to the relevant section.
